I am a linguist with interests in language history, linguistic variation, morphological and syntactic theory. I am also interested in methodological questions of linguistic reconstruction, the history of English and Germanic languages, and more or less anything that falls under the label of historical linguistics. In my research, I address problems of variation in inflectional morphology, the lexicon as well as syntax. The overarching goal of these investigations is to uncover the complex mechanisms of language change, understand the principles of language organisation and give accurate descriptions of language structure.
